A court in Rome ruled in absentia to sentence a native of Chechnya, Rasul Bisultanov, to 23 years in prison for the murder of an Italian citizen at a disco in Spain. At the same time, according to Corriere Fiorentino, the prosecutor’s office insisted on life imprisonment.
As specified, in the summer of 2022 in Spain, the court already passed a guilty verdict on Bisultanov, sentencing him to 15 years in prison, but the Chechen escaped punishment. The lawyer during the meeting said that he did not know where his client was now.
The crime was committed in 2017. Bisultanov, who owns martial arts, beat 22-year-old Italian Niccolo Chatti to death in the Spanish resort town of Lloret de Mar. Records from surveillance cameras are attached to the case file, which show how Bisultanov finished off the Italian already lying on the ground.
