An incident occurred during the competition

There was a powerlifting tour in Orenburg. During it, Pavel Shipulov was crushed by a barbell. This was reported by the publication “Soviet Sport” with reference to “RIA Novosti”.

The projectile weighed 390 kilograms. When a participant from Tobolsk lowered the barbell. The left hand “flew out” and a heavy projectile ended up on the chest. Fortunately, the blow was softened by the racks. The insurers quickly came to the rescue. Pavel managed to avoid injury.
