In Kamchatka, a group of killer whales are stuck aground, one has already died
A group of killer whales found themselves trapped in the shallows of the estuary in the village of Ustyevoye, Sobolevsky district of Kamchatka. The region's Minister of Emergency Situations, Sergei Lebedev, said that the tide is low in the water area, and the situation is complicated by the fact that the bottom is covered with silt, which makes it impossible for equipment to approach.
“Judging by the video, one mammal died,” Lebedev wrote on social networks.
Employees of the Kamchatka Ministry of Natural Resources have been notified of the incident. Rescuers, GIMS and volunteers are now developing a plan to help killer whales.
