In Hungary, figure skaters are outraged by the invitation of naturalized Russians, according to Valasz Online.

As reported, the dissatisfaction of the athletes causes the loss of places in the national team.

So, as an example, the case with an invitation to the Hungarian national figure skating team Polina Dzhumaniyazova, who previously had Russian citizenship, is given. As a result, 14-year-old Vivien Papp lost her place in the national team, who in social networks criticized the policy of inviting Russians who changed sports citizenship. The figure skater complained that “she is not appreciated” and despite the good results, because of the arrival of the Russian woman, she was not needed by her country. After that, Papp’s parents informed her about her willingness to change citizenship and related offers from 3 other countries.

The current situation is due to the fact that Russian figure skaters are not allowed to participate in international tournaments. According to media reports, the Russian Figure Skating Federation received 19 requests to change sports citizenship this year.
