Head of the Moscow Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations dismissed

The head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Moscow, Sergei Zheltov, was relieved of his post, RIA Novosti reported, citing the press service of the head office. In the summer of 2022, Zheltov suffered a heart attack after extinguishing a fire in the Grand Setun Plaza business center.

“Zheltov Sergey Alekseevich was relieved of his post and on March 7, 2023 he was placed at the disposal of the main department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the city of Moscow,” the agency’s interlocutor said, without specifying the reasons for the resignation.

In June last year, Zheltov suffered a heart attack while extinguishing a fire in the Grand Setun Plaza business center. The head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Moscow personally arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire, after which he was taken to the hospital and operated on.

Zheltov previously worked as the head of the department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Magadan Region, deputy head of the Far Eastern Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, after which he was transferred to Moscow. He headed the capital’s headquarters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in 2019.
