Google announced plans to work with AI due to competition with ChatGPT

Google CEO Sundar Pichai said the company plans to introduce artificial intelligence (AI)-based features in search amid competition from chatGPT. transmits portal The Verge.

Pichai talked about how the company plans to “unleash the incredible possibilities that artificial intelligence provides,” saying the technology is “reaching an inflection point.” He also says that it was Google’s early AI research that helped create “generative AI applications that you’re starting to see today.”

As for its own apps, Pichai said the company had a lot of things planned for the next few months, something it had been preparing for since “beginning of last year.” The first model that people will be able to interact with directly is LaMDA, the company’s conversational AI model.

In November 2022, the American company OpenAI, one of the founders of which was businessman Elon Musk, launched the chatGPT chatbot, which is capable of generating texts, writing codes and answering questions. The neural network was able to collect the first million users in just five days.

On February 1, the Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU) proposed restricting access to the neural network and called the emergence of chatGPT a “new challenge” for the scientific community. This was preceded by a message from student Alexander Zhadan, who said on Twitter that he used chatGPT to write a thesis. The university said they would analyze this work. Later, on Twitter, Zhadan wrote that the diploma was counted, he received a “satisfactory” grade for it.
