General Director of Russian Railways Belozerov became president of the united Gymnastics Federation
The reporting and election conference of the new Russian Artistic Gymnastics Federation was held in Moscow. General Director of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov was elected President of the Federation. On his nomination on September 14 reported Head of the Ministry of Sports Mikhail Degtyarev. Mr. Belozerov was the only candidate, he was elected unanimously, reports "Match TV".
The new federation emerged from the merger of the Artistic Gymnastics Federation, the Trampoline Federation, the Sports Acrobatics Federation, the All-Russian Sports Aerobics Federation and the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation. The president of the latter, Irina Viner, after resigning her powers statedthat she had long dreamed of leaving her post.
