The Rust group of companies, one of the largest vodka producers in the world, has launched the production of gin under the Bristoll’s brand, a representative of the concern told Vedomosti.

This will be the first drink in this category in the company’s portfolio. According to its representative, in the near future it will be available in federal retail chains throughout Russia, negotiations are underway with retailers. Bristoll’s gin is expected to hit store shelves as early as March.

Gin has become the fastest-growing category among new alcohol products in the first three quarters of 2022, NielsenIQ, an analytics company, calculated earlier. Moreover, according to its data, the share of domestic brands in it amounted to almost half of the sales volume. According to Rust, the sale of this drink in Russia is growing by about 40% annually. At that time, the import of strong drinks in the first half of last year fell by 35%, and gin – by 26.6%, freeing up a niche for domestic products, the Kommersant newspaper wrote. The production of this category has already been launched by such companies as Luding Group and Ladoga.

Rust produces vodka (Russian Standard, Green Mark, Parliament, Talka), Darrow whiskey, and low-alcohol Bravo cocktails. The owner of the company is its founder and chairman of the board of directors Rustam Tariko. According to the Spark-Interfax system, in 2021 the revenue of Rust Russia JSC amounted to 30.2 billion rubles, the net loss was 1.3 billion rubles.
