French Prime Minister: Paris seeks to maintain dialogue with Russia on Ukraine

French Prime Minister Elisabeth Born, during her speech in the country’s Senate, stated the need to build a dialogue with Russia.
The head of the Cabinet stressed that after the Ukrainian crisis is resolved, Russia will remain a neighbor of France and a powerful power. As for ways out of the current situation, Born sees them exclusively in the field of diplomacy.
“Only diplomacy will allow finding a long-term solution to this conflict. For this reason, we maintain channels for dialogue with Russia,” she added, stressing that negotiations should be held at a time “when Ukraine decides to resort to them and is able to do so so that her voice can be fully heard.”
