Former Spartak coach may temporarily head the Ukrainian football team

51-year-old Spaniard Vicente Gomez, who previously worked at Spartak Moscow, may become the interim head coach of the Ukrainian football team, Sport.ua writes with reference to TaToTake.

Serhiy Rebrov is currently being considered as the main candidate for the post of head coach of the Ukrainian national team. But Rebrov has a contract with Al Ain, a UAE club, until June 30, 2023, and until that time, his assistant, Vicente Gomez, can lead the team.

In Spartak, the Spaniard worked as an assistant to Massimo Carrera from June to November 2018. He also led the youth team of Athletic Bilbao and Dynamo Kyiv's double, and was also a member of the coaching staff of clubs such as Al-Ahli, Donetsk Olimpik and Azerbaijan's Sabah.

Currently, the head coach of the Ukrainian national team is Oleksandr Petrakov. The extension of the contract with him remains in question after the unsuccessful performance of the team in the League of Nations.
