In Finland, filed a police complaint against the hockey team of Latvia because of the bookmaker’s advertising

The Latvian ice hockey team was reported to the police for advertising a bookmaker’s office during the World Championship. This was announced by the Commissioner of the Finnish Police Department Arto Partanen.

“The application was submitted on Monday. The report on the preliminary investigation will be registered and we will consider this issue,” Partanen said.

According to him, the response to the relevant appeal has not yet been received. He added that such a case with banned advertising is “the first of its kind.”

It is worth noting that the logo of the Estonian bookmaker was displayed on the uniform of the Latvian team during the international tournament. Under Finnish law, promotion of more than one local company is not allowed, and advertising of gambling is completely prohibited.

Canada won the Ice Hockey World Championship this year, taking the 28th title. Latvia was able to take bronze for the first time in history, while the Finns lost in the quarterfinals and could not continue further struggle for the cup.
