Expert: the incidence of COVID in Russia is now on the upper plateau

Since the beginning of September, Russia has been passing the upper plateau in the incidence of coronavirus. This was announced by the chief researcher of the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after V.I. N.F.Gamalei Anatoly Alshtein.
As previously reported in the federal operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus infection, 51,269 new cases of the disease were registered in the country per day. At the same time, 111 deaths were noted during this period of time. This is the maximum since May 12th.
According to Anatoly Alshtein, such lethality can be assessed as low compared to previous waves of covid. The expert believes that now the incidence rate will gradually decrease. This will be most noticeable in November.
Alstein also noted that the omicron-strain of coronavirus BA.5 bypassed the whole world. In some countries, its distribution is still ongoing. In Russia, the increase in the incidence began at the end of July
