Estonia will not grant asylum to Russians avoiding partial mobilization

Estonia will not provide asylum to those Russians who want to avoid partial mobilization in Russia, Prime Minister Kaja Kallas said in an interview with CNN.

“We are here accepting Ukrainian refugees from the war. Every citizen is responsible for the actions of his country, this also applies to the citizens of Russia. So we don't provide any shelter," she said (cit. according to RIA Novosti).

Earlier today, September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced about carrying out partial mobilization in the country. At present, according to him, the Russian Armed Forces operate on the line of contact, which exceeds 1,000 km. The adopted decision on partial mobilization "is fully adequate to the threats that we face," the President stressed. Mobilization activities were supposed to start today, September 21st.

Later Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu explainedthat those in the reserve are subject to conscription within the framework of partial mobilization, he estimated their number at 300,000 people. We are not talking about the mobilization of students or conscripts, Shoigu specified.
