Erdogan lashes out at Macron: 'not an honest politician'

Turkish President Recep Taipei Erdogan sharply criticized his French counterpart, accusing him of “dishonesty and saying that because of him, “France is losing its prestige.”

According to the Turkish leader, the man who is at the head of France “does not have the qualifications” to rule this country. Erdogan added that he had repeatedly met with Macron at international venues, but his colleague was “not honest.”

“But he is not honest, and we want international politics to be built on honesty. Where there is no honesty, there is no trust,” the Star newspaper quoted Erdogan as saying.

The Turkish president added that Macron is not the only politician of this kind. He and his “likes”, Erdogan believes, enter into “different relations” with Greece, playing the interests of Turkey in the Mediterranean

The Turkish president also said that because of Macron, France is constantly “losing prestige”, including in the international community.
