“Eaglet” inspired young athletes

1,479 schoolchildren from 82 subjects of the Russian Federation, as well as the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, were involved in the final stage of the “Presidential Competition”, which ended in the All-Russian Children’s Center “Orlyonok”, in the Krasnodar Territory. The program of these All-Russian competitions is implemented in accordance with Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 948 of July 30, 2010. Among the organizers are the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.

For three participants competed in basic and additional disciplines. The first included sports all-around, relay races, theoretical and creative competitions, the second included badminton, basketball in the 3×3 format, mini-football, swimming, beach volleyball, sambo and chess.

Based on the results of the main events, the winners were determined. Among the urban class-teams, the top three were representatives of the Tula, Voronezh and Chelyabinsk regions. Schoolchildren from the Moscow and Tomsk regions and the Republic of Dagestan were on the podium in the standings of rural class teams.

Educational organizations whose teams became winners were eligible for special grants. They will be used to improve the sports infrastructure and encourage teachers who have contributed to the development of youth sports.
