Dmitry Drize - about the rehabilitation of the theory of evolution

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' spoke out against the persecution of Darwin's theory. According to the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, evolution is a positive factor inherent in human development. Recently, there have been demands, in particular, to exclude the research of the English naturalist from school textbooks. Kommersant FM political commentator Dmitry Drize does not rule out that Darwin’s place as a negative figure will be taken by someone else.

Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill stated that evolution is good and correct and it in no way contradicts God’s plan, for every creature should have the ability to develop, and not vice versa. As we know, the fight against Darwin’s theory has been going on for quite a long time, for more than 100 years, no less. And Russia is also no exception. Recently, the ex-chairman of the Chechen government, Muslim Khuchiev, said that these studies are deeply erroneous and have a detrimental effect on the education of the younger generation. Then there was a reaction that it was high time to put an end to this “brainchild of the Anglo-Saxons.” True, no alternative was proposed. If not evolution, then what? Not clear.

This reminded me of something: in the Soviet Union there was an academician named Trofim Denisovich Lysenko, who exposed genetics as a “corrupt girl of imperialism.” Later, his arguments were recognized as erroneous, but our country is very seriously behind other states in terms of development, including agriculture. I had to catch up.

Science is very difficult to cross with ideology.

She doesn’t understand that the Anglo-Saxons are bad now, but yesterday they were good. And the harm from this is great in economic terms and from the point of view of achieving high goals of sustainable development. What's the end result? Was it possible to defend the theory of evolution completely and irrevocably? Or will the theses of an angry public be heard to one degree or another? In fact, this is no longer entirely important. Not Darwin's theory, but there will be something else. The Anglo-Saxons came up with a lot of things, so if you dig deep, there is somewhere to direct the anger of activists. This is the current trend - to fight something and identify and ban something alien.

Meanwhile, if we are looking for the best in the past, then Darwin’s works are truly a complete harm. But then new scientific arguments need to be presented, for example, that reverse evolution also has the right to life. After all, it was good without the Internet, mobile phones, we rode horse-drawn carts, the air was clean. Grace, in a word. There is a reason for new scientific research to match the historical moment. You need to create your own theories if the Anglo-Saxon ones are unacceptable. But for some reason this does not happen, only existing ones are prohibited. However, let's hope for the best and that our science will develop, achieve the necessary goals, and we will be ahead of the rest.
