Djokovic spoke sharply about the situation with Sinner's doping case
Djokovic on Sinner's doping case: the system doesn't work, it all harms tennis
Novak Djokovic believes that the abundance of regulatory bodies and inconsistency in their decisions harms tennis - the words of the Serbian tennis player are quoted by Punto de Break. Djokovic shared his opinion amid the doping scandal with world number one Jannik Sinner from Italy.
Previously, Sinner was not punished for two positive doping tests for clostebol taken in March. In both cases, he successfully appealed the suspension and continues to play.
“It’s very clear that our system is not working,” Djokovic said. “There are too many regulatory bodies and inconsistency in their decisions is not good for tennis.” At the same time, he expressed sympathy for Sinner: “He faces another trial. ...It must be very difficult.”
The 24-time Grand Slam winner hopes that the issue will be resolved as soon as possible, as everything that is happening is harmful to tennis.
