It is a magnificent wandering offered by Nadia Yala Kisukidi, the fantastic story of a poor dwarf who lives in the north of France in Paris, then in suburb, armed with her “Manual” scribbled on the roads that she enriches with her encounters and her experiences among the marginalized of this world. The first nice surprise is this twirling feather that catches you from the first pages. One thinks of the “magical realism” that sticks to this literature where the imagination and the margins mingle. This is exactly what the novelist has achieved for her first title. It even makes shadows and ghosts speak.
We are carried away by his art of storytelling. The narrator is this dwarf who leads the “I” with mastery. The adventure begins when she manages to rob some thieves and grab a wad of cash. The crossing can begin, with its gallery of crazy and well dented characters. First in a university cafe where she landed a job as a waitress perched on a stepladder.
