Diplomat Tyapkin: Poland's claims to Russia for reparations are political fantasies

Oleg Tyapkin, director of the third European department of the Foreign Ministry, said that all Poland’s claims against Russia for paying reparations for losses during World War II are in the realm of political fantasies.

According to him, at the moment, the Polish authorities, solving some of their internal political problems, are trying to turn to “historical revisionism.”

“I believe that these claims of the Polish authorities against Russia, which are associated with the losses of Poland during the Second World War, are inadequate and are in the realm of political fantasies,” Tyapkin said.

He clarified that the immorality of these demands is obvious, because if the USSR had not defeated Nazi Germany, then Poland would simply not exist.
