Scriptwriter and member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia German Klimov died at the age of 82. It is reported by the Union of Cinematographers.
“The Guild of Screenwriters expresses its sincere condolences to the family of German Germanovich Klimov, his relatives and friends,” reads a message on the website of the Union.
The causes of death and the date of parting with the cinematographer are still unknown.
Recall that German Klimov is the brother of the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Elem Klimov. Together, the Klimov brothers worked on the cult Soviet film Come and See.
In addition, German Klimov took part in creating scenarios for many other sports films: “Sport, Sports, Sports”, “Men’s Games in the Fresh Air” (1978), “Tactics of Long Distance Running”, “Farewell”, “Duel. Final, as well as Flight of the Champion.
From 1986 to 1991, Klimov was the head of the USSR Sports Film Federation, and from 1988 to 1991 he was president of the International Federation of Sports Films and Television.
