Actor Nikolai Shatokhin has died at the age of 62, director Ksenia Zotova said on Facebook (the social network belongs to Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation). According to her, Mr. Shatokhin died yesterday, May 29, in a hospital in the Moscow region.

“Today, Kolya Shatokhin, an amazing actor and a wonderful person, died. He died in the hospital – so even his phone is now in this hospital, and relatives do not have the opportunity to notify his friends by phone, ”wrote Ms. Zotova.

The director said that the funeral of Mr. Shatokhin will be held on June 1, the farewell ceremony is scheduled for 12:00 Moscow time. It will take place on the stage of the Moscow Theater for Young Spectators (MTYuZ).

Nikolai Shatokhin was born on September 30, 1960. In 1898 he graduated from GITIS with a degree in acting. He began his film career in 1988 – he starred in one of the main roles in Viktor Aristov’s film The First 100 Years is Difficult. In 1992, he played a major role in Kira Muratova’s film The Sensitive Policeman. Among other things, he starred in the series “Chronicles of the Paranoid”, “Sklifosovsky”, “Eighties” and “Kamenskaya”.

Mr. Shatokhin was also a theater actor – he played at the Moscow Youth Theater in the performances of Good Bye, America! and “Playing “Crime””, played roles in performances at the Center for Drama and Directing, as well as at the Meyerhold Center.
