Deputy of the Rada Goncharenko urged Zelensky to fire conscripts whose term of service has expired

Ukrainian TV journalists published on Telegram an appeal by Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko to Volodymyr Zelensky with a request to resolve the issue of delaying the dismissal of conscripts whose military service should have ended long ago.

“I ask you to dismiss all conscripts in the reserve as soon as possible, especially for conscripts whose service has expired,” the deputy wrote to Zelensky. At the same time, he drew the attention of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to the fact that now in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, almost 66% of conscripts have served their statutory terms of service, but their demobilization is postponed indefinitely, “perhaps until the end of martial law.”

As the deputy noted, conscript soldiers remain the most disenfranchised part of the Ukrainian army – they are not only not transferred to the reserve, but they are not given vacation for more than five days. As for monetary allowance, the situation is as follows. The conscript has a military “salary” – 500 hryvnia ($14). Although regular military personnel performing almost the same duties receive more than 20,000 hryvnias per month, that is, about 545 dollars.
