Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Manilova will head the Russian Museum

State Secretary-Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Alla Manilova will leave her post and head the Russian Museum, sources told Kommersant. The RIA Novosti department did not confirm the information about the departure of Ms. Manilova.

After the departure of long-term director Vladimir Gusev, the duties of the general director of the Russian Museum in the status of acting are performed by the ex-deputy director for public relations Anna Tsvetkova. Ms. Manilova has been featured in the media as a potential candidate for director since the very moment Mr. Gusev left.

Alla Manilova is a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism of the Leningrad State University (1979), from 1980 to 1993 she worked in the newspapers Svetlana and Leningradskaya Pravda, later she was the editor-in-chief of the Nevskoe Vremya newspaper. In 2003, she moved to work in the government of St. Petersburg (since 2008 she worked as a vice-governor, supervised the fields of science, education, and cultural tourism). In the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Mrs. Manilova works since 2012, she took the post of Secretary of State – Deputy Minister in 2018.

In addition to the Russian Museum in 2023 changed management at the Pushkin Museum im. Pushkin, as well as in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
