Acting head of the Danish Ministry of Defense Troels Lund Poulsen visited the German company Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft, where Leopard 1 tanks are being prepared for shipment to Ukraine. In a press release, the defense department noted that, presumably, military equipment will be sent by Vienna this year.

“We remain hopeful that we will be able to deliver the first tanks this spring,” Poulsen said.

The Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom emphasized that the main goal of this project is “to provide two battalions with tanks as soon as possible.” It is expected that Ukraine can receive 80 combat units from Denmark, the first of which will be used to train the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Back in early February of this year, the kingdom decided to cooperate with Germany and the Netherlands in sending 100 Leopard 1 tanks to Kyiv.
