Inflation in Russia as of August 19 in annual terms amounted to 13.9%, while weekly deflation remained unchanged compared to the previous week and amounted to 0.03%, should from Rosstat data.

Consumer prices have increased by 10.23% since the beginning of the year. In the period from 13 to 19 September in Russia, prices for buckwheat groats decreased by 1.3%, for granulated sugar by 1.2%, for chicken, margarine, black tea and millet by 0.4%.

Prices increased by 0.9% for canned meat for baby food, by 0.7% for chicken eggs, by 0.5% for boiled sausages, by 0.4% for frozen fish.

Among medicines, the cost of ergoferon (+1.2%), levomekol (+0.7%), multivitamins and allochol (+0.5%), corvalol (+0.4%), etc. increased.

Prices for gasoline and diesel fuel increased by 0.1%, the cost of flights in economy class decreased by 1.7%.

Formerly Ministry of Economic Development of Russia improved forecast for a decline in Russia’s GDP in 2022 to 2.9%. This was stated by the head of the ministry Maxim Reshetnikov during a government hour in the Federation Council. Next year, the economy will continue to decline – by 0.8%, while already in 2024-2025. GDP will grow by 2.6% per year, the minister added. At the end of August, the ministry presented a draft forecast, in which the decline in GDP in 2022 was expected at the level of 4.2%, and in 2023 – by 2.7%. In the previous version, the ministry expected the economy to grow by 3.7% in 2024 and 2.6% in 2025.
