The French retailer Decathlon, which suspended its work in Russia in March, began selling off stock balances through the Ozon marketplace, with which it has been cooperating for more than two years. informed TASS with reference to the press service of the marketplace.

The French sporting goods and clothing retailer has launched 20,000 branded products on the marketplace, including men's, women's and children's clothing, as well as equipment for summer and winter sports.

It is clarified that this is not about parallel imports, since Decathlon sells goods on the marketplace directly. The sale touched upon seasonal goods that remained in stock after the company suspended operations in Russia on March 29. At the end of June, the company announced the temporary closure of its stores due to the inability to continue supply.

The French company Decathlon, which is part of the Mulliez Family Association together with Auchan and Leroy Merlin, specializes in the production and retail of goods for more than 70 sports. She owns over 1,000 stores worldwide and owns 40 brands. The first store of the company was opened in Moscow in 2006, and by the end of 2021, 57 stores were opened in Russia. At the time of the suspension of activities, 2,500 employees worked in the Russian structure of Decathlon.
