CSKA beat Paris NN in the Russian Football Cup match – Kommersant
The Moscow football club CSKA defeated Paris Nizhny Novgorod in the fifth round match of the RPL Path group stage of the Russian Cup. The meeting of Group C, held in Nizhny Novgorod, ended with a score of 2:0. Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic made his debut for CSKA.
The first goal against Paris NN was scored by Croatian CSKA midfielder Kristijan Bistrovich in the 49th minute. The second goal in the 61st minute was provided by striker Kirill Glebov.
In the 85th minute, the Bosnian midfielder of CSKA, four-time Italian champion with Juventus, Miralem Pjanic, came on as a substitute. Contract with CSKA 34-year-old midfielder signed September 26. Pjanic plays for the Moscow club as a free agent.
At the end of the match, CSKA scored 11 points and topped the table in Group C, Paris NN had 1 point and last place in the group. The clubs that take the first two places in each group (A, B, C, D) will go to the RPL Path playoffs. Teams that take third place will continue to play in the “Path of Regions”. The winners of the “RPL Path” and the “Path of Regions” will meet in the final of the Russian Cup. The current winner of the Russian Cup is Zenit.
