Chinese Foreign Ministry: No one can deprive Russia of its role in the UN

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, announced Russia’s important role in the UN.
The Chinese diplomat said he was glad to see Lavrov again after the meeting in Samarkand.
“I want to congratulate you on the fact that you did come to New York … Although the UN is located in the United States, it belongs to all of us. Russia is a permanent member of the Security Council and must continue to play its important role in the UN” Wang Yi said, emphasizing that “no one can deprive Russia of this right.”
