China and the United States should cooperate, containment and pressure are not beneficial to either side, Premier Li Qiang said at a press conference on Monday.
According to him, China and the United States can and should cooperate, the countries have great potential for cooperation, and deterrence and suppression will not benefit either country. The press conference was held on the results of the first session of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of the 14th convocation.
Li Qiang believes that the topic of breaking economic ties between China and the United States is periodically heated up, but it is not clear who really benefits from such a conflict in the end.
The Prime Minister of the State Council believes that the economies of the two countries are complementary, and therefore the development of each of them is beneficial for the opposite side.
