A new section of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, 320 km long, through which Russian fuel will be delivered to China, has been put into operation by the Chinese side. This was reported by PipeChina, which manages the Chinese extension of the gas pipeline.

“The Chinese section of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline Anping-Tai’an in eastern China was officially put into operation on September 16. This demonstrates that the energy supply chains in the east of the country have become even more advanced,” PipeChina said in a statement quoted by Prime.

The construction of the Power of Siberia-2 is also planned for the coming years. According to Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, the Russian-Chinese project will be able become a replacement for Nord Stream 2, which was frozen due to sanctions.
