Children’s Ombudsman: mobilization reservations for fathers with many children are being worked out

The Children’s Ombudsman in Russia, Maria Lvova-Belova, reported on incoming requests to expand the reservation from mobilization, in particular, for fathers raising three or more children or a child with a disability. She stated that the device is working on this issue.

“We get a lot of requests to expand the booking to include men who have an increased fathering load – those who are raising three children or raising a child with a disability. These requests are humanly understandable. Questions are being worked out by our apparatus,”— wrote children’s ombudsman in his Telegram channel.

According to her, the office and regional ombudsmen receive many calls and letters about mobilization. For example, an applicant from Transbaikalia received a summons, despite the fact that he is raising four children under 16 years old. Mistakes in serving the summonses are connected with the incompleteness of the credentials, Ms. Lvova-Belova believes.

Partial mobilization has been announced in Russia since September 21. Ministry of Defense clarified its criteria, according to which fathers with four or more children under 16 cannot be called up, men recognized as temporarily unfit for health reasons, etc. On September 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree deferring the mobilization of students for full-time and part-time forms of education. However, the media reported on numerous violations of this order. For example, in the Omsk region, the agenda got men with cancer, fathers of many children and students.
