Russian “digital attaches” have already been appointed in Malaysia, Argentina, Vietnam, South Africa, Cuba and China, informed TASS Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko at the conference “Digital Industry of Industrial Russia” (CIPR). He also spoke about four other candidates awaiting the final selection.

“Six digital attaches have already been appointed: in Malaysia, Argentina, Vietnam, South Africa, Cuba and China. Four more candidates – Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Uzbekistan – are waiting to pass the final stage of the competitive selection,” the politician said.

The fact that the service of Russian “digital attaches” will start working abroad, Chernyshenko informed in February last year. Then it was specified that in 2022 they will start working in 16 countries. The corresponding agreement was signed by the Ministry of Digital Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Russian Fund for the Development of Information Technologies (RFRIT).

As Chernyshenko explained, the creation of such a service is provided for by the second package of measures to support the IT industry, approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The tasks of the candidates selected for the position include comprehensive work to promote domestic software products abroad, provide consulting, information and analytical, legal and organizational support to Russian IT companies in the countries of presence.
