The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) decided to shut down the Large Hadron Collider on November 28 two weeks earlier than originally planned to save energy due to shortages.
The day before, CERN announced that the technical shutdown for the end of 2022 (YETS) will take place on November 28, two weeks earlier than previously planned, and in 2023 the operation of the accelerator complex will decrease by 20%.
Recall that CERN is the largest high-energy physics laboratory in the world. The Large Hadron Collider was developed by CERN with the participation of physicists from many countries, including Russian specialists. It is located on the border of Switzerland and France.
