In the resort city of Kislovodsk (Stavropol Territory), the Caucasus Wrestling Cup was held. About a hundred athletes aged 7 to 16 took part in interregional competitions.

The grappling tournament was held in a sports and recreation complex (FRC), built in the floodplain of the Podkumok River in 2020 for 154 million rubles. According to the results of the competition, the team of Kislovodsk took the Caucasus Cup.

“The interregional grappling tournament was held in Kislovodsk for the first time. The championship opened the martial arts season in the resort city. The next Caucasus Cup will take place in October this year.
The FOK, which hosts competitions, can accommodate four hundred athletes at the same time – an ideal sports base for the development of this new type of martial arts,” said Evgeny Moiseev, head of Kislovodsk.

Grappling began to develop in Russia 20 years ago. In 2013, it was recognized as an official sport.
