Canada will impose new sanctions on Russia due to referendums in the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. This was stated by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

According to him, the new package of sanctions will affect Russian legal entities and individuals.

“We intend to respond to further escalation by introducing new anti-Russian sanctions. They will be directed against individuals and entities involved in this latest attempt to undermine the principles of state sovereignty,” Trudeau said.

He clarified that Canadian representatives will never recognize the results of the referenda because they “have absolutely no legitimacy.”
