The business activity index (PMI) of the Russian manufacturing industries rose from 51.7 points in August to 52 points in September, follows from data S&P Global. An index value above 50 points indicates an increase in economic activity, below – a decline.

“The data point to a recovery in the manufacturing sector (Russia.— “b”) for the fifth consecutive month, and it was the strongest increase since March 2019, helped by an increase in production and new orders as customer demand grew,” S&P said.

Over the past year, the maximum drop in PMI was recorded in March, when the index went down up to 44.1%. Since August PMI began to grow (in July the index reached 50.3 points). According to S&P forecasts, in 2023 the Russian index may reach 50.1 points.
