Britain to double defense spending by 2030

In the next eight years, the British government intends to double defense spending. The amount of spending is estimated at 100 billion pounds per year. This is the essence of more than 108 billion dollars. Defense Minister Ben Wallace spoke about this in an interview with The Sunday Telegraph.
He stressed that his department plans to expand the possibilities of collecting information. In addition, funds can be directed to the development of intelligence and surveillance. Another item of expenditure is the fight against unmanned weapons.
Britain’s defense spending is now £48bn. Previously, it was planned to spend no more than 2% of GDP on this item. Liz Truss, the country’s new prime minister, promised before her election that she would bring this figure to 3% of GDP. And now she intends to make her campaign promises come true.
Before the end of the year, the UK government will publish an updated version of the Comprehensive Security, Defense and Foreign Policy Review. The new doctrine will focus on the confrontation between Russia and China.
