Borisov allowed the continuation of Russia's work on the ISS until 2028

Cooperation on the International Space Station (ISS) project will most likely last until 2028, said Yury Borisov, Director General of Roscosmos.

"In our plans [работать на станции], including 2024, then, depending on the state of the ISS, we will continue. Until 2028 with a high probability,” said Borisov (quote according to TASS). According to him, the Russian side always clearly fulfills its international obligations. On Wednesday, Baikonur held talks with a NASA representative.

At the end of July, Borisov announced that Russia would start withdrawing from the ISS project after 2024, however, the exact dates were not determined and were not reported to partners, they would depend, among other things, on the performance of the ISS itself.

Borisov reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the withdrawal from the ISS project and the development of the Russian orbital station on July 26. According to him, the future of Russian manned cosmonautics should be based primarily on a balanced and systematic scientific program so that each flight provides knowledge in the field of space.

In March, Dmitry Rogozin, then head of Roskosmos, warned of the “collapse” of the ISS until 2030: the station has been operating since 1998, and its resource is 15 years. At the end of April, Rogozin announced that Roscosmos had prepared proposals for completing work on the ISS and sent them to the president and government. Rogozin did not name dates.
