Bloomberg: iPhone production may be cut in China due to protests

China’s production of the iPhone 14 Pro could be up to 6 million less than planned due to unrest at Foxconn Technology Group’s Zhengzhou facility, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

It is noted that losses in production will directly depend on how quickly Foxconn manages to stabilize the situation after major protests at the enterprise and return employees to assembly production. Bloomberg recalled that this company produces the bulk of Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max devices, which have become the most in demand this year.

The agency source said that Apple and Foxconn expect the plant to produce 6 million units less than planned, but hope it can be offset in 2023.
