Bloomberg: Erdogan will ask Putin to cut gas prices by 25%

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a meeting in Samarkand intends to request a discount from Russian President Vladimir Putin on gas in the amount of 25%, transmits Bloomberg agency, citing an informed Turkish official.
It is specified that Erdogan will also seek an agreement that will allow him to pay part of his bills in Turkish lira. According to the publication, Turkey’s natural gas bills from Russia this year should exceed $50 billion.
Formerly Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak informedthat Russia and Turkey agreed on partial payment for deliveries in rubles. According to Bloomberg, such measures will allow Ankara to reduce the rate of spending of gold and foreign exchange reserves.
On September 15-16, in Samarkand, for the first time in three years, a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State is being held in person. On the sidelines of the event, Putin held a number of bilateral meetings, including with the heads of China, India, and others. According to RIA Novosti, he met with Erdogan will discuss the issue of gas supplies from Russia, as well as the details of partial payment for fuel purchases in rubles and Turkish lira.
