Beeline Reveals Mobile Tariff Fraud Scheme – Kommersant

Beeline reported a new fraud scheme, in which criminals call under the guise of telecom operators, offer discounted mobile tariffs and ask to transfer money for a certain period to "guarantee connection". Information about the new tariff is recommended to be checked on the official websites of telecom operators.

As explained "RIA Novosti" According to the Beeline press service, during one of these cases, a fraudster called the client, offered to connect a tariff with a 50% discount, and then asked to transfer funds for two months at once. After the funds were transferred, the tariff was never connected.

Due to the development of fraudulent schemes, some telecom operators have begun to implement solutions that protect subscribers from repeated fraudulent calls. They work either to prevent unwanted calls or to break the connection during a conversation based on its analysis by a neural network. The companies say that the number of unwanted calls has increased by 30% over the past six months.
