“Beauty Queen” of Crimea was punished for singing the anthem of Ukrainian nationalists

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Crimea reported that the court sentenced the winner of this year’s beauty contest, Olga Valeeva, and her friend for singing the song “Chervona Kalina”, which is considered the anthem of Ukrainian nationalist militant groups.
“The court found the citizens guilty of committing administrative offenses,” the statement said.
One girl was sentenced to an administrative arrest for 10 days, and the other was fined 40,000 rubles.
Earlier, the Crimean Ministry of Internal Affairs also published a video in which both defendants in the administrative case apologized for what happened and explained that they did not know about the nationalist nature of this song.
