BBC: the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attempts to leave Vugledar were almost suicidal
Attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to leave Ugledar in the Donetsk People's Republic against the background of the offensive of the Russian army were suicidal. This is the assessment given by the BBC TV channel.
As British journalists point out, the Ukrainian military had to leave the city in the dark, overcoming minefields installed by the Russian Armed Forces.
Earlier, a fighter from one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades said that many of his colleagues died during the retreat from Vugledarwhen the Russian army was very close to the city. According to the Ukrainian military, “we tried to send supplies, organize the evacuation of wounded and dead soldiers, but to no avail.”
Military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have repeatedly complained that the command sends them on suicide missions. The brigades lack military equipment and weapons, but commanders still require them to perform impossible tasks.
