The Investigative Committee of Russia on its Telegram channel on Sunday reported that the head of the TFR, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to open a criminal case into the dismantling of a stele dedicated to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War in Novosibirsk.
The report says that residents of the Siberian city turned to the leadership of the TFR. They asked to understand the circumstances of the demolition of the stele in honor of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War near one of the shopping malls in order to build a hotel on this site.
The Chairman of the TFR instructed the leadership of the Investigation Department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Novosibirsk Region to organize a procedural check.
It is also reported that on the social network VKontakte, users write in the comments that the Investigative Committee of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Novosibirsk Region, which was entrusted with the check, after the appeal of one of the residents of the city about the dismantling of the stele, redirected this appeal for consideration on the merits to the prosecutor’s office.
