Athletes of Khakassia represent the region at the Summer Paralympic Games

From October 2 to October 9, Sochi hosts the Summer Paralympic Games “We are together. Sport”, where Khakassia is represented by pupils of the “Irbis” school. They already have their first successes.
The competitions have the status of international ones, since in addition to Russian athletes, citizens of Belarus, Germany, Serbia, Mali and Eritrea take part in them – a total of 1800 people. The program includes 9 sports. Pupils of “Irbis” compete in three: athletics, table tennis and chess.
Athletes of Khakassia already have 3 gold and 2 bronze medals. Athlete became the winners in their categories Vadim Trunovwho overcame the 100-meter race the fastest (11.72 seconds), as well as tennis players Grigory Isakov and Alexander Sokolov. Tennis players also became bronze medalists: Igor Lung and Inna Balakhchina.
In the coming days, the competitive program for athletes, chess and tennis players will continue. The sports piggy bank of Khakassia can be replenished with new awards.
