Athletes from Sakhalin won two silver medals at the weightlifting tournament

Athletes from Kholm Konstantin Travin and Maxim Gorbunov won two silver medals at the 18th All-Russian Weightlifting Tournament in memory of Honored Coach of Russia MS Okunev for the prizes of Olympic champion Dmitry Berestov. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Sakhalin Region.

The competitions were held in Chekhov near Moscow and brought together more than 350 athletes aged 10 to 15 from 33 regions of the country.

The Sakhalin Region was represented by athletes from Kholmsk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Silver medalist Konstantin Travin competed among boys aged 10 to 12 in the weight category up to 41 kg. Having completed six attempts, the Kholmchanin took 42 kg in the snatch and 52 kg in the clean and jerk. Maxim Gorbunov (13-15 years old, up to 49 kg) also used all six attempts effectively. His result – 60 kg in the snatch and 73 kg in the clean and jerk brought him second place.
