The Russian Academy of Sciences Commission on Combating Pseudoscience commented on calls to abandon the study of Darwin's theory in schools, reports rtvi.com.
Experts said the theory about the mechanisms of biological diversity and human origins is not a matter of dispute among biologists, anthropologists and paleontologists and is consistent with data from related fields.
Not teaching Darwin's theory would lead to an increase in scientific illiteracy, the commentary says.
