“Arrow from the MFC” was sent to be treated: the court declared insane

On June 6, 2023, the Moscow City Court determined the fate of the shooter from the MFC Sergey Glazov (recall, December 7, 2021 he fired in the building of the MFC in the Ryazansky district of Moscow, as a result, he killed two and injured four people). Themis appointed him compulsory medical measures. In which closed mental hospital he will be treated, now the Russian Ministry of Health has to be determined.
According to Glazov’s defender Pyotr Kolbov, the court session was held behind closed doors. In fact, the decision was formal: after all, the court relied on a forensic psychiatric examination, which recognized the “shooter from the MFC” as insane. Its results were not refuted, and no one applied with such a petition.
The judge of the Moscow City Court did not prescribe in his ruling for how long compulsory medical measures are prescribed. The fact is that this will be determined by the medical commission. Glazov can spend his whole life in PBSIN (a psychiatric hospital of a specialized type with intensive supervision).
The court left the claims of the victims without consideration, stating that they can be filed separately, in a civil procedure.
