In the Russian Premier League, there was another coaching resignation. This time, Oleg Vasilenko, the Torch mentor, left his post. After eight rounds of the Russian Championship, the Voronezh club is in 14th place, having scored only four points so far and has not won a single victory. Cooperation with Oleg Vasilenko was terminated by mutual agreement of the parties. The interim head coach will be his assistant Dmitry Pyatibratov.

A series of resignations, which happened at the starting segment of the Russian championship, has come to Fakel, whose head coach Oleg Vasilenko held out in his post only eight rounds. During this time, the Voronezh team, who returned to the top division of domestic football after a long break of 21 years, could not achieve a single victory and ended up at the bottom of the standings, in 14th place, next to other losers of the championship – Torpedo and Ural, who also had to change their coaches.

It cannot be said unequivocally that Fakel failed the beginning of the season. As for the game, the Voronezh team in general often aroused sympathy, because they tried to show open football, and not lock themselves in their own half of the field, putting up the so-called defensive “bus” in the hope of clinging to the result by any means.

Vasilenko adhered to the philosophy that his team, despite the rather poor resources compared to most rivals, should follow modern tactical guidelines, aimed primarily at attack.

Already in the first round, his “Torch” patted “Krasnodar” on the road, which is now in third place, and tied – 2:2. In the home meeting with Dynamo, the Voronezh team arranged an enchanting spectacle, having recouped first from 0:2, and then from 2:3. That match in general can be called so far perhaps the brightest in the current championship. And you can also remember that Fakel led after the first half in confrontations with CSKA and Spartak, although in the end in both cases suffered major defeats with a score of 1:4.

But the courage of the debutant of the Premier League did not bring him many points. All that Vasilenko managed to achieve in material terms was four draws with four defeats and a total goal difference of 10:19.

AT “Torch” Vasilenko’s assistant Dmitry Pyatibratov will be the acting head coach. Pyatibratov has much less coaching experience compared to Vasilenko. However, information appeared that Dmitry Pyatibratov would indeed be the main one temporarily. According to several sources, including “RB Sport”with a high degree of probability, Fakel will be headed by Igor Cherevchenko, known for his work with Khimki, Arsenal and Lokomotiv.
