The Russian military stopped an attempt to break through the front by Ukrainian armed formations in the Alexander-Kalinovsky direction, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Vadim Astafyev, head of the press center of the Yug group.
He noted that the attempt was made by a Ukrainian sabotage and assault group, and Russian motorized riflemen and artillerymen stopped it.
“Motorized rifle and artillery units of the group thwarted an attempt to break through the front line of the Ukrainian sabotage and assault group in the Alexander-Kalinovsky direction,” Astafiev said.
He also announced an attack on the point of temporary deployment of the 81st Ukrainian airmobile brigade in the Lisichansk direction, on the accumulation of weapons and military equipment of the 24th mechanized brigade in the Toretsk region, as well as on the accumulation of manpower, reserves and ammunition depots of the 110th separate mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Avdiivka.
According to him, the Solntsepek flamethrower complex was used for this.
